As with Tokyo we did not have enough time in the beautiful Kyoto! I swear you need at least a week (if not more) in each of these gorgeous cities in order to experience them to the fullest.

The first day we were there, we went and visited the cutest monkeys at the Arashiyama Monkey Park. I have to say the walk up to them nearly killed  me (seriously need to work on my fitness - new year resolution perhaps?) but it was well worth it. The view of Kyoto was stunning and being able to sit and have these monkeys wander around past you and also the chance to feed them, is an experience I won't ever forget.

We also were able to visit the Fushimi-Inari shrine and it is as beautiful and magically as it looks. Walking through the hundreds of hundreds of Torii gates, you feel like your in another world, the hundreds of other people however do remind you where you are, a small downside.
